"THE GENERATION"

Dewayne and I pray that this Monthly Teaching Letter finds all of you well, healthy, protected and blessed in Jesus Name!  We love and appreciate the Covenant Partners that God uses to provide this Source of Truth into the hands of so many!  Normally, right after the Monthly Teaching Letter is complete every month and it then goes through the various stages of production, I begin asking The Master what He has upcoming for the next Monthly Teaching Letter.  Weeks ago The Lord began speaking and ministering to me the word, “generation.”  It was written down on paper and I began to pray throughout the month of June about this word.  For many days, The Lord has been uncovering Himself and His Word about this.

I think that those of us who live in America can very easily forget how amazing this Country really is.  I know that I have many times taken the wonderfulness of The United States of America for granted.  In order to truly understand the Word that The Master has for us, we must look at something very significant that happened that involved the USA.  We all know that on 06 June 2014 we saw demonstrated over all of our TV’s and Media outlets that the 70th Anniversary of D-Day had arrived.  Now, I had always heard of D-Day, however I knew VERY LITTLE about this important day, and yet even at the beginning of June and during this time that many were celebrating this special day referred to as D-Day, I knew in my spirit I had to know more of what D-Day was all about.

Very briefly, World War II was the deadliest and most destructive war in history.   Before this war, the World was going through the Great Depression.  The economy was terrible, unemployment all over the World was at an all-time high and enormous inflation caused money to lose its value.  More than fifty (50) Nations in the World were fighting and more than 100 million soldiers were deployed.  At this time in History, The United States of America and Britain were part of what was known as the Allied Powers.  While Japan and Germany were part of what was known as the Axis Powers.

At this time in History, Adolph Hitler became a ruler and dictator that had risen and directed his followers in Germany to do horrendous acts.  Under his direction, millions of innocent people were killed by truly brutal and wicked deaths.  Approximately 6 million Jewish people were murdered due to others hating them for loving and following the True God.  Others that were killed during the various stages of these mass killings were people of the Polish descent, Romani descent, disabled people, homosexual men, people who opposed Hitler's government, Soviet civilians and Soviet prisoners of war (POW's).  In total of all these groups it is estimated that 11 to 17 million people were taken as slaves, tortured and eventually killed.

On 07 December 1941, the Japan military launched a surprise attack on the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  Since early 1941 the United States had been supporting Great Britain in its fight against the Nazis and Adolph Hitler.  Japan had been expanding its military in Asia and in the Pacific and the United States had been communicating to them that they wanted Japan to stop.  When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the U.S. could no longer avoid war on Japan.  On 08 December, U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt asked Congress for and received a declaration of war against Japan.   On 11 December 1941(3 days later), Germany and Italy, allied with Japan, declared war on The United States, and had now entered World War II.  Many Americans joined The United States Military from the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor and during World War II. Several of the individuals that joined the Military were very young.   Because of Japan’s actions against the U.S. and its alliance with Germany and in addition with what Hitler was committing towards mankind, The United States of America allied with Great Britain and Canada in World War II.  The United States, Britain and Canada would all struggle together for one common goal — the defeat of Nazi Germany and the freedom of the innocent.

On D-Day, when the U.S. and Her allies stormed the beaches of Normandy, France in the early morning hours of 06 June 1944, it was one of the largest fleets and forces to attack in History.  Most of the individuals that were fighting and a part of the D-Day Invasion were very young, most between the ages of 17 years to 20 years old!  At the end of this enormous day in History, by nightfall nearly 10,000 soldiers of the U.S., Britain and Canada had given their lives for other’s freedom.  It was not until the invasion led by The United States of America along with Her allies of Britain and Canada at Normandy, France that the beginning OF THE END OF HITLER AND HIS MASSACRES OCCURRED.

The Time Clock Begins!

Matthew 24:32-34 (AMPC) “From the fig tree learn this lesson: as soon as its young shoots become soft and tender and it puts out its leaves, you know of a surety that summer is near. 33 So also when you see these signs, all taken together, coming to pass, you may know of a surety that He is near, at the very doors. 34 Truly I tell you, THIS GENERATION (the whole multitude of people living at the same time, in a definite, given period) will not pass away till all these things taken together take place."

Let’s look at Matthew 24:32-34 and REALLY see what The Bible is saying.  In Matthew 24 we are told many things from The Lord Jesus about the future and what Signs we will see in The Last Days.  There are three questions that the disciples of Jesus ask Him – (1) When shall these things be? (2) What shall be the sign of your coming? (3) What shall be the sign of the end of the World?  Matthew 24, along with other paralleled Scriptures tell us the many Signs that We, as The Church should be able to identify to know that we are living in the Last Days.  Yes, no one knows the day and hour of Christ’s return (Matthew 24:36), but we are called to know the Season that we are living in, in History.  (That is the reason that Jesus told us in detail the Signs to look for! He wants us to understand WHEN we are living!)  When MANY of the Signs are given out to the disciples then and to us His disciples NOW in Matthew 24, we then arrive at the verses of 32-34 that really sum it all together.

First of all “the fig tree” is the people of Israel.  The Fig Tree is used many times in The Word to symbolically mean The People of Israel.  Now, we are told in Matthew that we are to be watching “the fig tree” (Israel) and what are we to be watching about Her?  The Bible tells us, “From the fig tree learn this lesson: as soon as its young shoots become soft and tender and it puts out its leaves, you know of a surety that summer is near.”  What is very significant here is that we have to remember that Israel was NOT A NATION FROM THE YEAR OF 70 A.D. UNTIL 14 MAY 1948!  So, we could not even SEE “THE FIG TREE” until She (Israel) was in existence again for this prophecy to manifest!  Remember, this is Jesus talking here!  Israel was alive when He said these Words!  And Israel had been around for A LONG TIME — She Was Not Young!  Jesus is describing to His disciples that “The Fig Tree” (Israel) will teach us a “lesson” and that “lesson” will be learned when Israel is “young.”  Yet, we must look into the Hebrew and Greek to truly understand what Matthew 24:32-34 means.

The word tenderin Matthew 24:32 has the Strong’s Number of NT:527 which is “apalos” (ap-al-os'); which means of uncertain derivation; soft: tender.   The word leaves is the Strong’s Number of NT:5444 which is “phullon” (fool'-lon); from the same as NT:5443; a sprout, i.e. leaf:  When one goes to the root word/number of NT: 5443 it is the word phule” (foo-lay'); an offshoot, i.e. race or clan: kindred, tribe We still can go even deeper in this word leaves to find the root word/number of Strong’s Number NT:5453 which is phuo” (foo'-o); a primary verb; probably originally, to "puff" or blow, i.e. to swell up; but only used in the implied sense, to germinate or grow (sprout, produce), literally or figuratively: spring (up).

Now, what is so important here is that Israel WAS A NATION WHEN JESUS SAID Matthew 24:32-34!  Israel was a Nation when Jesus told us ALL OF THE SIGNS to answer His disciple’s questions in Matthew 24.  And yet two (2) very major things are spoken to us about the Signs in The Last Days . . . Israel had to begin again, be no more and then be born or raised again!  Once Israel WAS NO MORE, there would be a time in history that SHE WOULD "germinate or grow (sprout, produce), literally or figuratively: spring (up)"  AGAIN!  Germinate means to grow, sprout, take rootIsrael would have to be planted and HAVE LIFE AGAIN before She could “take root” and grow.  Israel would have to be birthed again for Her to have young shoots that were soft and tender and it puts out its leaves!  (And remember, “leaves” means RACE OR CLAN, KINDRED and TRIBE!)  Israel would HAVE TO BE IN EXISTENCE AGAIN!  Israel would have to be “LEAVES” AGAIN!  Israel would have to be a RACE, a CLAN, a KINDRED, a TRIBE . . . AGAIN!  And Israel was NOT A NATION FROM THE YEAR OF 70 A.D. UNTIL 14 MAY 1948!

The Separation Of Generations

There is one last factor that we must go over, and that is that there is a GENERATION that is mentioned in Matthew 24.  A very specific GENERATION. The word “generation” posses the Strong’s number of NT:1074, which is “genea” (ghen-eh-ah'); which means a generation; by implication, an age (the period or the persons):, age, generation, nation, time, country.  The Strong’s Number used here (1074) derives from the root word of NT:1096; which “generation” also means, “ginomai” (ghin'-om-ahee); to become (come into being)!  It also means to arise, be assembled, be ended, fall, be finished, be fulfilled, grow, happen, be made, be ordained to be.

When Israel became a Nation again, that “age,” “generation,” was “made” and “was to become into being” again!  And when Israel “became into being again” the Generation that witnessed it and is witnessing Israel GROW and HAVE LEAVES ARE THE GENERATION THAT GOD SAYS “WILL NOT PASS AWAY TILL ALL THESE THINGS TAKEN TOGETHER TAKE PLACE!”  Verse 34 tells us, “Truly I tell you, THIS GENERATION (the whole multitude of people living at the same time, in a definite, given period) will not pass away till al these things taken together take place." Now, let’s look at something else in The Word that will tie all of this together for us!

In Numbers 14:26-30 we see that in History there was a Generation of God’s People who DID NOT obey Him and because of their rebellion against Him and because of their murmuring words against God’s Words they did not receive the blessing of God.  The Children of Israel that were raptured out of Egypt, went through the Red Sea and was the first Generation that God wanted to use in His History were disciplined by The Father.  And we find in Numbers 14:26-30 (NLT) what happened, “Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 27 “How long must I put up with this wicked community and its complaints about me? Yes, I have heard the complaints the Israelites are making against me. 28 Now tell them this: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very things I heard you say. 29 You will all drop dead in this wilderness! Because you complained against me, every one of you who is twenty years old or older and was included in the registration will die. 30 You will not enter and occupy the land I swore to give you. The only exceptions will be Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.”

God saw the separation of two Generations here, the ones that would get to go into The Promised Land and the “cut off” of those who would not.  And with the exceptions of Caleb and Joshua (who were the ones left because they were obedient to God) and would lead, only the ones that were under twenty (20) years of age were the ones that God would use to build His People with.  Now, what I really want us all to see and absorb here is that God, Himself saw that the age of 20 was the “separation” of two Generations.  Many people have MANY thoughts and opinions on “what is a Generation.”  But we see here God, Himself separated out a Generation from another Generation in this time in History.  And at that separation at the age of 20, one Generation would NOT GO TO THE PROMISED LAND and another Generation would.
