Holocaust Rememberance Day
 (Yom HaSho'ah)
Began at Sundown Wednesday, 11 April 2018 through Thursday, 12 April 2018
As many know, Dewayne and I were both so blessed to visit the Nation of Israel.  People ask us many questions about what we seen there, what was the Middle East like and various other questions.  Churches and groups have asked us to come and speak to the people about what Israel was like.  Some questions that people ask we can answer out loud.  And yet some of the things we saw, well, there are no words to describe.  The images, sights and feelings we encountered are so deep within our souls we cannot speak about them.
One of which is when we attended the Holocaust Museum in Israel.  Even now, I am at a loss for words.  We looked at the pictures of people and their families, real people who died horrible deaths because of one man's insanity and governmental power.
Adolph Hitler
Holocaust Remembrance Day began at Sundown on Wednesday, 11 April 2018 and ends at Sundown on Thursday, 12 April 2018.  Adolf Hitler was the ruler dictating the mass murders to be executed.  Under his direction, millions of innocent people were killed by brutal deaths.
The word holocaust originally derived from the Greek word holo'kauston, meaning a "whole (holos) burnt (kaustos)" sacrificial offering to a god.  One could only recall in The Bible the kings, the rulers and the people who would sacrifice other people and their children to their pagan gods by burning them and killing them and offering them and their blood to their god.  (Just think, that is what the Jewish People along with others literally experienced, they were burned and sacrificed also.)
Sho'ah is used by the Hebrews to describe the mass murders.  Sho'ah means calamity.  This term is preferred by the Jewish people due to that holocaust describes a Greek pagan practice.  Approximately 6 million Jewish people were murdered.  Murdered due to others hating them for loving and following the True God.  Others that were killed during the various stages of these mass killings were people of the Polish descent, Romani descent, disabled people, homosexual men, people who opposed Hitler's government, Soviet civilians and Soviet prisoners of war (POW's).  In total of all these groups it is estimated that 11 to 17 million people were taken as slaves, tortured and eventually killed.

Many of the people were taken from their homes.  Children taken away from their parents.  Families torn apart from each other and sent to various Concentration Camps and Extermination Camps where the people of the Holocaust would become slaves and then be murdered.  They were transported by trains.
Although trains took valuable track space away from other usages they sped up the degree and period over which the extermination needed to take place of the Jews.  The enclosed nature of the railway carts used, reduced the number and the skill level of the troops required to transport the Jews.  This allowed the Nazis to build and operate more efficient death camps to a larger scale, rather than wasting valuable manpower on having large amounts of men guard and transport the Jews on these enclosed trains.
The enclosed trains kept the Jews securely in one moving place.  The trains would transport military goods and cattle and would be empty on their return, then the empty trains were used to transport the human freight or cargo (the Jews) to the death camps!  Most of the trains were standard long cattle freight trains and some third class passengers carriages were also used in the transporting of the Jews.
The capacity was to hold 50 people in the cargo boxcar and most of the time that was at standing room only.  Yet, 100 people were put in them with no food or water and a bucket was supplied to use the bathroom in.  Some died during the transporting process that was from 4 1/2 to 18 days in length.  Most trains had 50 cargo boxcars, so 100 people x 50 = 5,000 people to slaughter per train per arrival!

Germany would have the Jews and other groups that were their slaves dig out large pits in the ground with their own hands.  These pits would be used to stand the Jewish people in rows inside of them, normally naked, and the Germans would assassinate the Jews by mass shootings.  The people would fall into the pit they dug out with their own hands for mass burial of the people.  Other ways of murder were through gas chambers, starvation, exhaustion, diseases that were injected into their bodies for medical experiments and for many the human torture they endured to their deaths.

So, how can we in today's time remember?  One is to pray!  Pray for your Nation.  Pray for the leaders of your Nation and the other Nations of the World.  1 Timothy 2:1-4 tells us, "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
Another way to recall what happened to so many is to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and Israel.  Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure."  We are commanded to do this and those who love Her and do this will be secure - this is a wonderful promise for us to take Church!

Thirdly, let's NOT LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN!  Let us not turn our faces to the wall and let any leader or ruler take freedom and life away from God's People again!  STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT against wrong in this World!  Do not ever think that your voice is too small or insignificant or irrelevant!  You have the power of LIFE and DEATH IN YOUR TONGUE!  Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."   Use your voice to keep freedom for you, your family, your Nation and God's People!  (Remember, you are "God's People" too!)  Also, remember that the enemy used One Man to bring terror and destruction to a World for a season, BUT GOD SENT THE MAN, JESUS TO BRING FREEDOM AND LIFE FOR ETERNITY TO US!  Let's be a warrior and soldier like Our Lord, Jesus!  Let's fight the good fight of faith!  And let us never forget, LORD, LET US NEVER FORGET!
Lord Jesus, we pray for the peace, protection and salvation of Jerusalem, Israel and the United States
of America in Jesus Name!
