Jesus suffered a horrendous death and great anguish for the World on one of God's appointed Times on His Calendar . . . on the Feast of Passover.  THE FEAST OF PASSOVER, WHICH IS ON GOD'S CALENDAR, BEGAN ON A SUNDOWN.  IT WAS ON THE FIRST DAY OF PASSOVER  WHEN JESUS BEGAN THE PAYMENT FOR OUR SINS!
At Sundown on the first day of Passover (which is called The Day of Preparation in the Bible) is when the Passover Meal occurred, which we call "The Lord's Supper."  What this Meal really was, was the Passover Meal to which Jesus was letting His Disciples then and now know that He was entering into a Blood Covenant with them and us.  Jesus told his Disciples that drinking of the cup was the New Covenant and it was His blood and the bread was His body. (Luke 22:19-20)  He told them to eat and drink Him.  And The Covenant "steps" would begin right then at that Sundown (evening) on the first day of Passover and then continue through the night and through the next day.

Then He would go to Gethsemane and make the very hard decision to obey The Father and lay down His Life for many.  He would be beaten, mocked, go through illegal trials through the night, be wrongfully accused, be flogged unto almost death and finally after a long walk out of the City of Jerusalem with a cross, his body was finally nailed to two pieces of wood and put on display for everyone to see . . . WHEN?  ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE FEAST OF PASSOVER!  Father God's First Born laid down His Life and Complete All for Mankind ON A SPECIFIC DAY and A SPECIFIC TIME IN HISTORY!  No, not just on any day of the year, IT WAS ON A PURPOSEFUL AND CORRECT TIME - it was on GOD'S TIME and GOD'S TIMETABLE!

There is SO Much to celebrate at Passover!  Passover was to commemorate the miracle of the Hebrew children of God being protected from the final plague that was brought to the Egyptians.  God instructed the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb, put its blood on the doorposts of their homes and then death would pass by them and not kill their first born son of their families.  (And this did not just mean babies, it did not matter the age of the first born son and this also included the first born of the cattle.) (SEE Exodus 11:4-7)  After the Hebrew children slaughtered the lamb and placed its blood on the doorposts of their homes, they were also to eat the lamb and there was not to be any left over of it the next morning.  The lamb and its purpose must be finished.  No longer do we have to sacrifice a lamb.  Jesus paid it free and clear for us!  Thank You Lord!  Jesus was the First Born of Father God.  Just like the first born son was to be killed in Egypt, Jesus, the First Born Son was.

The blood of the slaughtered lamb was to be placed on the doorpost of the house of the Hebrew family. The word "doorpost" in the Hebrew comes from the root word shaqaph (shaw-kaf'); which means (by implication) to peep or gaze (passively, to be a spectacle) appear, to look (down, forth, or out).  Jesus hung on the cross or doorpost with His own blood smeared on it!  He hung up looking down, seeing forth and out to the people and into our future, knowing we need Him desperately.  Jesus became the "spectacle" with His blood that all could gaze upon and that He could look forth to.

Also, the Hebrew children were told to eat and finish the lamb they sacrificed.  It had to be finished.  Just like our Jesus said at the end of His slaughter, He exclaimed, "It Is Finished!" (SEE John 19:30).  Praise The Lord!
Another wonderful truth we find in The Word of God about this great time of Passover is that when the Hebrew children left Egypt, great blessings went with them.  We find in Exodus 12:35-36 (TLB), "And the people of Israel did as Moses said and asked the Egyptians for silver and gold jewelry and for clothing. 36 And the Lord gave the Israelis favor with the Egyptians, so that they gave them whatever they wanted. And the Egyptians were practically stripped of everything they owned!"

And we also find in Psalm 105:36-38 (TLB), "Then he killed the oldest child in each Egyptian home, their pride and joy- 37 and brought his people safely out from Egypt, loaded with silver and gold; there were no sick and feeble folk among them then. 38 Egypt was glad when they were gone, for the dread of them was great."  The Hebrew children came out rich and healthy!  No one had lack and poverty was broken!  None were sick, all were healed, healthy and strong!  Praise The Lord!  And when did this all happen - at Passover!
And The Lamb of God, Jesus, paid for us on that day our health and healing, 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV), "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed."  And He also paid for the curse of poverty off of us His people, Galatians 3:13 (NIV), "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."  And we know from 2 Corinthians 8:9 (NIV) that, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich."  The Hebrew children received prosperity, health and healing after the slaughter of the lamb at Passover.

Now we, the children of God, have prosperity, health and healing after The Lamb, Jesus was slaughtered and rose from the dead!  This is part of our inheritance!  This belongs to us and we should receive what has been so expensively paid for by our Lord!  And when did Jesus pay for all of this wonderful inheritance?  At Passover!  So, this Passover Season take the time to remember all that has been given to you.  And take it all by faith!  It's time that we, before we are raptured from this World, like the Hebrew children left Egypt, leave here with great prosperity and no one sick or feeble!  Praise The Lord!
